Hey Denver people, heads up! I’ll be giving a talk at the BMH Library on Shabbat afternoon, January 26th, at 3:40pm, on the Spanish Jews of the past and present and how I incorporated my research on this topic into By Light of Hidden Candles. Because it’s Shabbat, there will be no book-signing or Powerpoint or photos or videos (and of course no entrance fee!)… but I’ll be sharing what I know, reading a couple relevant excerpts from the book, and inviting questions and discussion. (And I’m bringing some By Light of Hidden Candles and Letters to Josep bookmarks for y’all!) People of all backgrounds, persuasions, and genders are welcome.
Hope to see you there!
In other news, Kasva Press and I have finally signed a contract for the republication of Letters to Josep, and we have agreed on a minor change to the subtitle. The book shall now be known as Letters to Josep: An Introduction to Jewish Life. It’s due out in April… just in time for St. Jordi’s Day 😉
In honor of the occasion, I made an updated book trailer!
